Our Mission
The mission of Ever Better Studios is to teach music in a way that is accessible, safe, and encouraging of open, honest student-teacher communication. Ever Better Studios prioritizes community over competition, and brave experimentation over rigid perfection. We provide highly personalized instruction, and prioritize making the best student/teacher matches possible.
Our goal is to foster a lifelong love of music, and to be proponents of a classical music culture that is free of fear and anxiety. Whatever your musical goals may be, Ever Better Studios is here to guide you along the way.
Our Vision
Ever Better Studios offers 1:1 music lessons on a wide variety of instruments, primarily clarinet, saxophone, and piano. A pillar of the community, Ever Better Studios welcomes students of all ages and levels, and serves as a resource for both private and public school music teachers. All lessons are heavily personalized to help students build and maintain a lifelong love of music.
Our Founder
Ethan Hicks is a performer and educator devoted to the clarinet for nearly twenty years. Growing up in the Metro Detroit area, they came to view music as a necessity to life, instead of an additive.
Most of their earliest memories revolve around singing, whistling, and humming throughout their home, building ear training skills before ever holding an instrument. That sense of child-like wonder is what Ethan views as a central pillar for learning music in all ages.
Our Services

Individual instruction from Ethan on clarinet, saxophone, and piano. Lessons are currently offered online in a virtual format, and can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

Invite Ethan to your program to lead sectionals, coach chamber groups, teach masterclasses, and more. Sessions and rates are customized by request.
